Crowdfunder engaged Magic Key during the very early concept stage of their startup. Our team worked with their founding team to help define an agile development process and create a project plan for the release of the initial BETA platform. Magic Key designed and built Crowdfunder’s platform from the ground up using open source technologies and a custom MVC framework developed specifically for this application. The site is deployed on Amazon’s Web Services and engineered with scalability in mind. Crowdfunder now has an internal web development team, but continues to use Magic Key as a development resource. Magic Key is currently working on building a more comprehensive internal admin tool and creating a reporting and analytics process to help the business make more data driven decisions.

Reading Kingdom

Online Reading Programs & Games For Kids (Teaching the World to Read)

  • HTML
  • CSS
  • JS
  • PHP
  • Database
  • Flash

Magic Key Consulting took over the maintenance and development of Reading Kingdom in early 2007. Reading Kingdom already had an active user base but they were experiencing a lot of bugs. They also wanted to grow their platform by adding new features and expanding functionality. Magic Key helped developed a plan to refactor and improve sections of the legacy code in a organized and deliberate manner. We built a robust admin tool that improved the internal customer service and gave the team much more control and visibility into their user accounts. We also developed a custom affiliate tracking system for their partners as well as an internal analytic tool for very detailed tracking of all user behavior on the site. This information is helping the business make more informed decisions on marketing and pricing of their application. The Magic Key team are big fans of what Reading Kingdom is doing and are firm believers in their mission - teaching the world to read.

Hitchcock: The Movie (2012)

Behind Every Psycho is a Great Woman

  • HTML5
  • CSS3
  • JS
  • PHP
  • Facebook API
  • Youtube API

This project was composed of three different sites to help cross market and promote the release of Fox Searchlight’s Hitchcock: A love story between influential filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock and wife Alma Reville during the filming of Psycho in 1959.

The main site was a fully responsive splash page design coded in HTML5. From this launch page you could link out to the two sub-sites. The first was a blog site about serial killer Ed Gein which involved a deep integration of YouTube’s API. The second was a Facebook Application titled “Share Your Scream” which allowed fans to upload an image of themselves and embedded it into one of three movie posters. The poster could then be shared via Facebook to help promote the film virally.

muserSTUDIO

This isn't your grandma's artwork – unless, of course, she is extremely cool.

  • CSS3
  • JS
  • PHP
  • Yii
  • Database

muserSTUDIO offers a unique experience in acquiring exceptional yet affordable art. Magic Key Consulting took over muserSTUDIO from another web development company who could not finish the project. Our team made the necessary changes, especially to the image editor which is the core of the website. There you can pick a base image, adjust the canvas size, and change the color of certain parts of the image all with a few clicks of the mouse. We also integrated social media into the site, letting you share the altered image you just purchased.
